چکیده
Abstract Pakistan has an agriculture-dependent economy vulnerable to climate impacts. Within Pakistan, Punjab province is a leading regional producer of food and cash crops, exporter agricultural commodities significance in South Asia. agriculture provides livelihoods for communities living one the most populous countries world these will be disrupted under incremental changes (e.g. rising temperatures) impacts extreme events (such as droughts floods). Climate impact assessments mapping are widely accepted initial approaches address change they have potential facilitate bottom-up adaptation. However, date, policy responses tended top-down, driven by national adaptation planning processes. This paper assesses vulnerability at district scale developing maps individual components vulnerability, i.e. exposure, sensitivity adaptive capacity. An indicator-based approach using composite index method was adopted assessment. The separated categorised districts based on their revealed spatial patterns factors influencing district-level vulnerability. These geospatial variations illustrate need nuanced that recognises importance local biophysical socio-economic context build capacity regions rather than current concentration broad-scale top-down action embedded National Adaptation Plans.
